How to Translate YouTube Live Streams

What you need
- A desktop browser with the live stream open in a tab
- Transtream open in another tab or window
- Your preferred subtitle language
Setup steps
- Open the YouTube Live stream in a desktop browser.
- Open Transtream and start a translation session.
- Select the YouTube tab or system audio source.
- Choose the spoken language and subtitle language.
- Keep the player audio enabled and adjust the subtitle panel as needed.
If captions do not appear
Check the selected audio source, player mute state, browser permissions, and language selection. Try reconnecting the tab after an ad, replay, or stream refresh.
Important limitations
Transtream processes only browser audio made available to the session. It does not host, record, download, or redistribute the live stream.
